Strange Coffee started as a way to focus on the most important part of the day: What's in your mug?

We wanted to focus on the coffee. Not just the flavor but the people behind the tree's growing our beans. It's been our mission to build connections with the farmers directly for honest, fair trade coffee from the source.

We not only shop with small farmers from across the world, we know them. Roastmaster Brian is often travelling the world independently and for government contracts to raise the standard of coffee roasting and quality.

Without small-scale farmers and independent growers the coffee world would grow stagnant. Building these relationships strengthens growers to expand and develop their coffee, which in turn elevates the roast. Nothing beats a bean from friends. By staying local to the New River Valley we are able to build strong connections with other businesses
